Integrated Health and Wellbeing (IHW) council has honored various institutions and individuals under a flagship initiative of CSR Health Impact Awards for providing support to overcome the challenges related to Covid-19 pandemic. After evaluating all the nominees, the winners were chosen through a process that was looked over by an eminent jury panel.
Vedanta Group was bestowed with 4 awards for initiatives undertaken to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, which included Vendanta Group – COVID relief Efforts, Hindustan Zinc Limited – Response to Covid-19, Vedanta Alumina, Lanjigarh – COVID Indigenous Response Project, Nand Ghar – Health CSR Project Category as a Large Corporate.
Other than Vedanta, 33 corporate organizations and charitable trusts were also honored under COVID categories of award for their health-focused social upliftment work. Lanjigarh SBI Insurance, Zydus Foundation, Reliance Power, Tech Mahindra Foundation, Oxfam India and ReNew Power are some of them. On the other hand, Sanofi, ICICI Lombard, Janssen, J&J India, NTPC Ltd, and Apollo Total Health were recognized for continued efforts to uplift the community in rural areas.
Majorly focused on national health, IHW works towards creating awareness and advocates for societal well-being. It encourages investments in health and contributory areas from corporates under their CSR obligations. The 4th edition of CSR Health Impact Awards continued the legacy of awarding those who are making a difference through vital contribution.
The special COVID-19 category of awards introduced this year was focused at honoring those institutions and individuals that helped the less-privileged people. Some of the awards were given for CSR COVID Relief Project, CSR COVID Protection Project; COVID Healthcare Providers; COVID Essential Heroes; COVID Public Health Warriors; CSR COVID Indigenous Response Project; COVID Social Impact Businesses; and COVID Social Champions categories.
